Accessibility Statement
LumaAPI is dedicated to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continuously improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards across all of our astrology calculators, landing pages, and interactive features.
1. Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. LumaAPI targets conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
2. Accessibility Features Implemented
We have integrated the following accessibility principles across the website:
Keyboard Navigation
All interactive elements—including navigation links, calculator input fields, buttons, FAQ accordion panels, and cookie consent preferences—are reachable and operable using a standard keyboard alone (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, Esc). Clear visual focus outlines are provided for keyboard users.
Screen-Reader Support
We use semantic HTML5 landmarks (<header>, <main>, <nav>, <footer>, <article>) and appropriate WAI-ARIA roles, labels, and states (e.g., aria-expanded, aria-label, role="dialog") so assistive technologies like NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack can navigate smoothly.
Text Readability & Typography
Our body typography adheres to high legibility standards with a base font size of 16px, line heights between 1.5 and 1.7, and constrained reading line lengths (65–75 characters per line). Headings follow an uninterrupted hierarchical structure (H1 → H2 → H3).
Color Contrast
Text and interactive controls are styled to meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast ratio thresholds (at least 4.5:1 for standard body text and 3:1 for large text or graphical interface components). Information is never conveyed solely through color alone.
Accessible Forms
Every form input is explicitly linked with a descriptive <label>. Helpful contextual hints clarify why birth date or time is requested, and client-side error notifications are paired with clear text guidance.
Reduced-Motion Support
We respect the prefers-reduced-motion: reduce media query. When enabled in your operating system or browser settings, decorative transitions, pulse glows, and entry animations are automatically minimized or disabled.
